About the trips
The experience begins with an introduction to the equipment and techniques. Our guides are experts in angling and are passionate about sharing their knowledge of the local ecosystem. They’ll provide invaluable tips and insights to enhance your fishing experience. All the equipment needed for a successful trip is provided.
If you’d like to take your catch home, we’ll prepare it for you.
After the trip, we’ll enjoy a warm lunch with local specialties in our heated lounge.
Whether you’re a seasoned angler or a first-timer, we’ll tailor the trip to suit your experience and preferences, ensuring a personalized adventure.
During our trips, we often have close encounters with local wildlife, including porpoises, seals, otters, sea eagles, and many species of marine birds.
Fish species
The scenic Kattfjord and the rich waters off the west coast of Kvaløya offer an exciting sea fishing experience, where you can catch a variety of species such as cod, coalfish, haddock, wolffish, and halibut.
Fishing responsibly
The marine recourses are not endless and there are regulations for sea fishing in Norway, which we of course follow and share with you during the trip. During the fishing trip we will also teach you how to handle the catch correctly to improve the quality. We follow minimum and maximum sizes and when it comes to vulnerable spieces, we practise catch and release, as an example, release big halibuts.

The boats are 9.4 meters long and 2.8 meters wide. They are built with a focus on comfort, safety, and maximum deck/fishing space. The boats have a center console with seating under a roof for shelter from the weather. They are equipped with state-of-the-art chartplotter, echosounder, radar, and VHF from Garmin. The boats have 2×150 hp Yamaha engines, which means we can quickly reach the best fishing spots.rnrnu003cpu003eRead more about our u003ca href=u0022https://explorethearctic.no/boats/u0022u003eboats.u003c/au003eu003c/pu003e
